The Friends of Hereford Cathedral are delighted to welcome novelist Paula Brackston, a Hereford resident, for Novels in Dialogue, an event exploring her much-loved series of books set in and around Hereford Cathedral.

The Friends of Hereford Cathedral are a voluntary organisation, formed in 1932 in association with the Dean and Chapter of Hereford Cathedral. The group is passionate about caring for the cathedral and preserving it for posterity and gives grants to the cathedral for various projects and activities. Alongside their work to support the cathedral, the Friends also run an extensive events programme which includes lectures, day visits to places of interest and even residential trips both in the UK and further afield.

Dr Joy Roderick, Chairman of the Friends of Hereford Cathedral, commented: “Your Chairman does not usually appear in Victorian costume but, on this occasion,  I shall be helping Paula with as authentic a performance as we can manage!”

Paula Brackston said: “I am hoping that my latest novel The Cathedral of Lost Souls will be on sale in the Cathedral shop soon after our performance. Every book purchased will mean a donation to Hereford Cathedral.”

Please note that advance booking for this talk is essential owing limitations of space in College Hall. Following the lecture, attendees are warmly invited to stay for coffee and biscuits, generously provided by the Friends’ Trustees. If you would like to join the Friends on the day of the talk, you will be able to do so before or after the lecture.

Novels in Dialogue with Paula Brackston will take place on Wednesday 14 January at 11am in College Hall (located within the Cathedral Cloisters). The lecture is free of charge to all, but you must reserve your place by emailing: [email protected].
