Hereford Cathedral is mother church to the Diocese of Hereford – an area covering the counties of Herefordshire and south Shropshire, with parts of Powys and Worcestershire. The cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Hereford and seeks, as a priority, to support him in his teaching and pastoral ministry. We consider our links with the parishes of our diocese to be of the highest importance. The cathedral participates fully in the wider diocesan links with the Lutherans in Nuremberg and with four Anglican dioceses in Tanzania.
