Visiting Hereford Cathedral 

Although there is no longer a requirement to wear face coverings or maintain social distancing, we encourage our visitors to be mindful of other people who may be more vulnerable, and take appropriate precautions as necessary to respect their needs.

Dogs: We welcome dogs at all times in the Cathedral Close, in the Chapter House Garden adjacent to the Café, and in our other gardens when they are open to the public. We regret however that dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not permitted inside the cathedral building, the Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition, and the Café.  
Assistance dogs (guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs and dogs trained to support people with disabilities or medical conditions) are permitted in all areas of the Cathedral when accompanied by their owner or handler and wearing an identifiable badge or harness.

Friday 13 September
The cathedral will be closed from 1.30pm – 3.30pm today due to a college Graduation taking place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Access to the Mappa Mundi & Chained Library exhibition, and the Café will be via the Lady Arbour Garden. Access to the toilets will be via St John’s Walk, towards the east end of the cathedral close. 

Wednesday 18 September
The cathedral will be closed from 1.30pm – 4pm today due to a college Graduation taking place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. MAPPA MUNDI & CHAINED LIBRARY EXHIBITION 

The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition is open Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 5pm (last admission 4.30 pm)

The exhibition is closed on Sundays, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
