Visiting Hereford Cathedral

Over the last few weeks we have started opening up the different areas of the cathedral for worship and visits. Below is the latest update of what to expect when you visit. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected] so that a member of our team can respond.

From Saturday 8 August face coverings are required by law in England to worn by everyone attending places of worship: this rule applies to visitors and worshippers alike. Therefore, we will kindly ask visitors to wear a face covering in the Cathedral, Cathedral Shop, Cathedral Cafe, Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition and any other indoor space within the cathedral.

**Please note that the cathedral will be closed to visitors on Friday 2 Oct until 12.30 pm owing to a service taking place. The Cathedral Cafe and Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition will be open from 10 am as normal but access will be via the Chapter House Garden.**

Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 3 pm

The cathedral is open for prayer and visits every day. We are operating a one-way system through the building; entry is via the Booth Porch (Main Entrance) and you will exit via the Lady Arbour Garden onto the West End of the cathedral.
