Visiting Hereford Cathedral 

Although there is no longer a requirement to wear face coverings or maintain social distancing, we encourage our visitors to be mindful of other people who may be more vulnerable, and take appropriate precautions as necessary to respect their needs.

Hereford Cathedral is dog-friendly but we ask all owners to familiarise themselves with our restrictions before visiting. Dogs are not permitted in the Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Museum, the inside seating area of the Cathedral Café or the Cathedral Cloisters. Dogs are also not permitted to join services or events, including tours.

MAPPA MUNDI & CHAINED LIBRARY MUSEUM

The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Museum is open Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 5pm (last admission 4.30 pm)

The museum is closed on Sundays, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The museum will also close at the earlier time of 2pm on Christmas Eve.

CATHEDRAL SHOP 

Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm

CATHEDRAL CAFE 

Monday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm (last orders 4.30pm)

The Cathedral Café will be closed on Monday 9, Tuesday 10 & Wednesday 11 February due to emergency works to repair the flooring. The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Museum will remain open as normal throughout this period and access to the museum will continue via the café as the works take place.
