Tower Tours

Adventurous visitors can climb the 218 steps for some of the finest views of the city and county of Herefordshire, and beyond. Tours include the Lantern Gallery and Ringing Chamber, with a set of panoramic interpretation boards at the very top. Tours may not take place if the weather is poor, and may not be suitable for all visitors. Children must be accompanied by an adult and we recommend that the climb is only suitable for children aged 8 or over. Certificates are issued to all who manage the climb to the top!

Tower Tours run at 11.30 am and 1.30 pm on selected Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays.

Tickets are also available to purchase from the cathedral’s Ticket Desk. The Ticket Desk is located just inside the main North entrance point and is open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. For enquiries, please email [email protected] or call 01432 374 202

Hereford Cathedral is fully covered by CCTV for the safety and security of our visitors, volunteers and staff. 

*If you are interested in joining one of our tours it is very important you make contact with the Visits Office first to ensure that tours are taking place that day. Sometimes, even at very short notice, tours have to be cancelled owing to poor weather or other events taking place in the cathedral or around the site.
