Contemplating Lent - a journey with artist Sophie Hacker

For the past few years we have had an artwork installed in the cathedral during Lent, and it has been the focal point for reflections before Compline on Tuesday evenings. This year, in partnership with Winchester Cathedral we are offering ‘Contemplating Lent - a journey with artist Sophie Hacker,’ an online art experience.

Each week a work of art by Sophie, loosely related to the Sunday Gospel, will be displayed here on this webpage and shared across social media (where people are invited to leave their reflections on it). There will also be a short introductory film each week in which Sophie introduces the work. We will update this page each week so all of the pieces are together in one place from Tuesday 23 February.

On Tuesday 30 March, 7pm we will join together on Zoom with people from Winchester Cathedral to look back over the five weeks, invited to say what that pilgrimage has been for us. To register your interest in joining the discussion, please email [email protected]
