Choir Chaperone Vacancy We have an exciting role for a confident and enthusiastic Choir Chaperone within our Music Department. You will be based in Hereford Cathedral’s unique and beautiful College Cloisters, where we have a dedicated Choir House and separate Song School. Key duties include responsibility for the choristers’ daily supervision and wellbeing, providing first aid and pastoral care for the choristers, assisting the choristers to prepare for services and concerts, liaising with cathedral staff, parents and schools. You will have the opportunity to participate in occasional choir tours and to join the chaperone team at the Three Choirs Festival. The working hours average 22¾ hours per week, (term-time only but to include rehearsals and services of Easter and Christmas) with additional hours during festivals and choir tours. This post may be available as a job share. Overtime is not payable but time off in lieu will be granted. The position will command a starting salary of £15,125 per annum, with an 8% non-contributory pension scheme. The post is permanent and is subject to a six-month probation period. The appointment of the successful candidate is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK, and will also require a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with children’s barred list check.
