This guidance was updated on Friday 28 January 2022

Following the change in government guidelines on Thursday 27 January, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face covering in most public places. Yet many members of our cathedral community are vulnerable or living with someone who is. Thus the Chapter encourages everyone to protect the most vulnerable members of the community by continuing to wear face coverings in the cathedral, the exhibition, the café and the shop. We also encourage the use of face coverings during public worship, which may be removed when singing: face coverings are not required for the choir or for those who have speaking roles in the service.

As the House of Bishops considers the common cup to pose a risk to public health, we will continue to administer Holy Communion in one kind only for time being.

Test and Trace sign-in sheets and QR codes are available for those who wish to use them and hand sanitiser remains available throughout the building.

We encourage everyone to observe social distancing where possible.

Thank you for your co-operation.
