Eastern Cloisters Project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, has focused on the stories of the Cloisters, and its heritage of music, community and learning. We had planned to open the Cloisters up in 2020, to bring members of our community, and those from further afield, into the Cloisters to share this beautiful space as much as possible. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we haven’t been able to run a lot of the engagement activities and events we had planned for this year, so instead we have created a collection of resources to share a little bit of the Cloisters experience with those who are currently unable to visit.

Sunday Reminiscence Boxes

Created using ‘Sunday Memories’ from members of our community, we have a limited number of these packs available for groups to borrow, for free. These multi-sensory resources have a focus on Sundays – Sunday School, Sunday best, Sunday lunch – to help prompt and recall memories. Designed to be used in care settings or with groups living with dementia, the packs can easily be adapted to suit the needs of different groups. To find out more please email [email protected]

Accessible Tours DVD

Throughout this year we have produced a range of lectures and tours but haven’t been able to share them with the public due to social distancing regulations. Instead, Activity Officer Sarah has created videos of these activities and compiled them into a DVD to be watched at home! The DVD includes the Cloisters Tour and a series of short talks about the history of the Cloisters and Vicars Choral. To find out more please email [email protected]
