Although public worship is not possible under current Covid restrictions, Hereford Cathedral Choir has recorded An Advent Sequence with Lessons and Carols, which will be available to listen to on our webcast page from 3.30 pm on Sunday 29 November.

As well as the Advent Prose, traditional Advent hymns such as O come, O come Emmanuel and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ arrangement of the Herefordshire carol This is the truth sent from above, the choir also sings the motet Ego vox clamantis in deserto (I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness) by the 16th-century Spanish composer Francisco Guerrero, William Byrd’s Vigilate and a setting of the medieval carol There is no rose of such virtue by Richard Lloyd, former organist of Hereford Cathedral. The organ voluntary is Johann Sebastian Bach’s great Prelude and Fugue in B minor BWV 544.

The order of service will also be available to download.

Do join us at 3.30 pm on Sunday.
