A letter from Lady McFarlane about the appointment of the next Dean of Hereford

As the Chair of the selection panel responsible for nominating the new Dean of Hereford, I wanted to write and tell you of progress so far and the timetable for the appointment process.


The selection panel had their first meeting on Thursday (4th March) to discuss the priorities of the role and agree the person specification. A briefing pack for candidates is currently being prepared, and the advertisement will appear in the Church Times on 19 March. The role will also be advertised on the Church of England website.


The interviews are scheduled for the 26th & 27th April and we anticipate that the announcement of the next Dean is likely to be made in June. The appointment panel comprises:
