Discover the cathedral organs in this family friendly event!

Have you ever wondered how an organ works? Or how many different pipes there are? Or why the organist plays tunes with their feet as well as hands? Then join the music department for this fun, family friendly introduction to the cathedral organs.

Featuring performances and demonstrations (including a very special rendition of the Trumpet Voluntary by our Director of Music and a hosepipe…), this 45-minute session is perfect for curious young people, and their grown-ups! Members of our music department will be available following the concert to answer any questions.

This event is free and will take place in the nave of the cathedral. Guide to the Cathedral Organs is most suited for children aged 6+ but younger children are very welcome to attend. Please be aware that parts of this event may be quite loud so if your child is particularly sensitive to noise, we would recommend bringing ear defenders.
