Revd Professor David Wilkinson | 7pm | Friday 27 September | College Hall | £5

In this public lecture, Professor David Wilkinson will discuss the exciting new scientific discoveries of planets outside the solar system and what this might mean for the question of whether we are alone in the universe? Rather than this being a problem for Christian faith he will suggest that Christians have long welcomed such speculation and indeed our search for aliens may be a reflection of a search for a deeper story to the universe.

David Wilkinson is Director of Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science (ECLAS), an international project based at St John’s College, Durham University. He holds PhDs in both theoretical astrophysics and systematic theology. His current work involves the relationship of the Christian faith to contemporary culture, from science to pop culture.
