Creative Cloisters - August

Creative Cloisters | Monday 12 & Tuesday 13 August | 10am - 3pm | £30

The beautiful Cloisters of Hereford Cathedral have been a source of creative inspiration to musicians, artists and poets for centuries. Today the Cloisters are home to the offices and the staff of the cathedral and are still a place of beauty, peace and tranquillity which inspire visitors. This summer the cathedral will be opening the Cloisters to artists to experience the space and create work in response to this very special location.

Following a welcome in the Old Chapel and an opportunity to learn more about the history of the Cloisters by watching the immersive and engaging historical reimagining video, attendees will have full access to the Cloisters, College Hall and Canon’s Garden which leads down to the River Wye. Artists can choose to set up location in one area, or move around the spaces, and be inspired by the comings and goings and stunning views.

Following attendee feedback about Creative Cloisters last year, we are now providing the option to book an extra day, with a sandwich lunch and tea and coffee provided each day. There will also be an opportunity for participating artists to display their work in an exhibition in the cathedral at the end of August – more details will be provided.

Artist materials are not provided by the cathedral, everyone is asked to bring along any materials they need for the two days.

The Creative Cloisters sessions take place from 10am - 3pm on Monday 12 August & Tuesday 13 August. Tickets for Monday only cost £20. If you would like to book both Monday & Tuesday, the two-day ticket costs £30. Spaces are limited so booking in advance is essential. To book, please proceed below and a confirmation email will be sent which will act as your ticket.

Tea and Coffee will be provided. Please inform us if you have dietary requirements or allergens and we can offer alternatives.
