A Midsummer Night's Dream

Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic comedy in Hereford Cathedral’s Chapter House Garden on Thursday 22 August.

Let yourself be whisked away on an enchanting journey to the most magical of forests and meet bewitched lovers, playful fairies, and hilarious travelling players. Beautifully designed Elizabethan costumes, a wonderful musical score and fine performances come together to make this an evening of unmissable summer garden theatre.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company produces critically acclaimed UK and international tours, specialising in Shakespeare, classic literature adaptations, and family shows. Originally founded to tour outdoor productions of Shakespeare in 1999, they have continued to grow and thrive. The new year marks the company’s 25th anniversary of touring theatre, which celebrates a quarter-century of incredible shows including outdoor theatre, music concerts, a yearly Christmas tour including performances at The British Museum, and bi-annual theatre tours of China.

The company have performed at the UK and Ireland’s most stunning historic venues, working with the likes of The National Trust and English Heritage as well as many cathedrals and stately homes to bring classic stories to life into the perfect setting. Chapterhouse strives to create a unique experience whilst continuing to bring joy to new and returning audiences every year.

This event will take place in the beautiful Chapter House Garden of Hereford Cathedral, next to the Cathedral Café which will be open from 6pm serving refreshments. Seating will be provided for this event and will be unreserved. The Cathedral Cafe will be serving alcohol and soft drinks as well as light bites, picnics and charcuterie boxes, ice creams and sweet treats. We ask that only food and drink purchased on site can be consumed during the event.

Tickets cost £20 (Adult) and £12 (Children under 16 or NUS Student) 

We are also offering a special group ticket package which will include a private picnic table for up to six people and a glass of prosecco or soft drink for each guest on arrival. In the case of rain, the performance will continue. All tickets are non-refundable. In the event of cancellation due to extenuating circumstances alternative arrangements shall be made.
