This year, on Saturday 11 May, we will join other cathedrals across the UK and will open our doors after hours and welcome in people of all ages to experience and explore our beautiful building and to enjoy a taste of cathedral life. 

Come along and discover what Hereford Cathedral has to offer on Saturday 11 May any time between 7pm - 9pm. 

Free activities include:

•    Visit the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, which will have free entry for one night only!
•    Challenge yourself to climb all 219 steps in a tower tour* at 7.15pm & 20.15pm (approx. 45 minutes)
•    Enjoy a special evening tour* led by our experienced Cathedral Guides at 7.15pm, 7.45pm & 8.15pm (approx. 30 minutes)
•    Come and immerse yourself in a gentle sound experience, performed by local choir Companion Voices, in the Lady Chapel from 7pm -8.30pm. 
•    Take some time out to reflect in the quiet and calm of our small chapels and the beautiful crypt which will be candlelit for the evening.
•    Hear the famous Father Willis organ in action at 8.30pm, performed by Assistant Director of Music, Peter Dyke! 
•    The cathedral team will be there to share all you need to know about upcoming events, activities and tours available across the year.

Our cafe and shop will be open late for the evening, serving hot drinks and tasty treats, and selling a range of gift items. 

Cathedrals at Night is free to attend, with no pre-booking required. Just drop in between 7pm and 9pm for a warm welcome and discover what your cathedral can offer you!

*Tower and Cathedral Tours will have a limited capacity and will be available on a first come first served basis.
