CHAPTER ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

Hereford Cathedral is looking for an Administration Officer to support the work of the Dean and Chapter in managing the administration of the Cathedral and its charities.

You will bring a broad range of skills and experience in administration and as a high-level PA, and your excellent attention to detail will enable you to take accurate minutes at meetings and prepare all related documents, as well as carrying out executive tasks to ensure the continued development of the Cathedral’s organisation and structures. Such project work will allow your excellent organisational skills and adaptability to shine. As the Administration Officer, you will hold sensitive and confidential information so high levels of integrity and discretion are top personal attributes for this role. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/Chapter Clerk with functional reporting to the Dean, you will work closely with the senior management of the Cathedral, both clergy and lay, and have the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with people at all levels throughout the Cathedral.

The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00 but with occasional out of hours work in evenings or at weekends. Overtime is not payable but time off in lieu will be granted.  The position will command a salary of £25,000-28,000 per annum depending on skills and experience, with a non-contributory pension scheme.

This is a permanent position subject to a six-month probationary period.  Employment will be subject to proof of right to work in the UK, receipt of two satisfactory references and may require a DBS check.
