We have an exciting new opportunity for a resident Assistant Verger. As well as being comfortable with the pastoral and ceremonial aspects of the verger’s role, we are seeking someone who has the aptitude to develop their technical skills, with support and training, so that they can operate our complex computerised systems for sound, lighting and live-streaming.

Hours: 40 hours a week Monday–Sunday which will include evening working, notified in advance. The cathedral is open every day from 7.30 am until 6.30 pm and the vergers are responsible for its opening and closing, as well as its overnight security.

Contract: Permanent after a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
