We are delighted to welcome The Right Revd Donald Allister to Hereford this July for a teaching week from Monday 1 - Friday 5 July.

Colossians, probably written by Paul from prison in the early to mid 50s AD, stresses the supremacy of Christ and the dangers of false teaching. Like Paul's other letters, it combines doctrinal teaching with practical wisdom for Christian living.

Philemon is a short personal note from Paul to one of the church leaders in Colossae, very possibly written at the same time and with a powerful message as well as a distinctive early Christian approach to slavery.

Join me as we look at these important and still-relevant letters.

Donald was first ordained in 1976, and was Bishop of Peterborough from 2010 until his retirement last year. He loves preaching and teaching the Bible, not least because it comes afresh to him each time he does so. He gladly describes himself as "captive to the word of God."

The sessions will take place in Old Chapel and attendees can choose to either attend the full week or individual days by booking below. The day will begin with Eucharist in the Old Chapel at 10am, coffee at 10.30am, Session One at 10.45am, Lunch at 12.30pm, Session Two 1.30pm, with the day finishing at 3.15pm. Advance booking is essential due to limited capacity. Please book below, and a confirmation email will be sent which will act as your ticket.

We are very grateful to Bishop Donald for generously giving his time, enabling us to make this event free to attend. We kindly ask, if not prohibitive, for a donation of £6 per day to cover the cost of lunch and refreshments. Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergens.

If you have any questions about accessibility, or are unable to book via the website, please contact [email protected] or call 01432 374 251
