Hereford Cathedral wishes to appoint a Development and Events Manager to support its ministry and mission.

This is a new position for a well-organised, imaginative and driven Development and Events Manager with the creative experience and professional expertise to initiate comprehensive new proposals for a variety of innovative projects to dovetail with the existing programme of commercial events and other income-generating cathedral activities.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and his team this is a wide-ranging role with specific responsibility, at the outset, for identifying new markets and implementing major new campaigns to significantly increase revenue streams. Extensive knowledge in the field of strategic development is pre-requisite and this will be backed by a robust self-motivated approach to the challenges of the role. Communication skills, marketing awareness and an enthusiastic, focused attitude to the many strands of this absorbing opportunity, will all play a significant part in sustaining the enduring heritage of Hereford’s historic cathedral.

This is a full-time position with a salary of circa £25,000 per annum dependent on career achievement, 20 days’ annual leave (plus public holidays) and entry into our non-contributory pension scheme after three months.
