We are very much looking forward to welcoming tourists back to visit us from Monday 17 May 2021.

During this period of lockdown, the cathedral has remained open for reflection and private prayer and on Sunday 28 March, public worship returned to Hereford Cathedral. We were very pleased to welcome Hereford Cathedral Choir back to join services during Holy Week and are now live streaming our Cathedral Eucharist (Sunday 10am) for those who wish to join in from home. Everyone is welcome to join us in worship, and booking of spaces or tickets is not currently required. To see a full list of our service times please click here.

The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition will re-open on Monday 17 May between the hours of 10am – 5pm (Monday to Saturday). The Library & Archives team have been working with The Shropshire Scribes on a brand new display within the exhibition space and are looking forward to unveiling this when we re-open. The Cathedral Café also plans to fully re-open by Monday 17 May so that those visiting the cathedral can relax with refreshments during their visit.

The Cathedral Shop, which has been operating online during the lockdown, has opened its doors once again for individuals to come in and browse their range of books, music and gifts. The shop can be accessed from the Lady Arbour garden and we kindly ask all customers follow the Covid-19 guidance displayed outside of the shop when visiting. The Reading Room, our lending library, has also re-opened and an appointment system is in place for those wishing to visit, more details can be found here.

We kindly ask visitors to still observe social distancing and to wear a face covering, unless exempt.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be sharing more details of the many events and activities that we are currently planning for Summer 2021 including Open Gardens, recitals and concerts on our website.
