Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday 23 March for the National Day of Reflection and a special thank you to those involved in the organisation of the event.

The Very Revd Sarah Brown, Dean of Hereford, said:

"As a faith community with real hope to offer in the face of death and loss we were very pleased to be able to support local families as they joined together in the Cathedral Close on March 23 for the third UK National Day of Reflection. Grief can be an incredibly isolating experience for so many people and by coming together to share the names of our loved ones and marking their loss with a period of silence I hope that we can offer some comfort and hope for all those that gathered with us. This is a beautiful initiative in keeping with a centuries long tradition in the church to hold before God those who have died and those who mourn.

We are always glad any day of the year to welcome into the cathedral those who simply want to light a candle and sit and reflect- or even speak with one of our chaplains about their loss and the Christian hope of life beyond death."
