Organised by The High Sheriff of Herefordshire, Mrs Patricia Thomas and The Honorary Recorder of the City of Hereford, His Honour Daniel Pearce-Higgins QC, the annual High Sheriff’s Lecture took place as a virtual event on Friday 13 November.

Baroness Hale of Richmond spoke about the rights and responsibilities of children for this year’s lecture, which raised funds for Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust. Due to the current restrictions, the event was held as YouTube webinar and was kindly hosted by Rural Media. The event, although a very different format to normal years, was a huge success with over 200 people registering to watch the talk.

Glyn Morgan, Perpetual Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to all of those who enabled this event to take place, especially Lady Hale for delivering such a fascinating lecture under very different circumstances. In a year in which so many of our fundraising events have had to be cancelled we very much appreciate the support and donations given by those who attended.”

The lecture is available online to view below and donations for the work of the Perpetual Trust are still gratefully received.
