In order to respect social distancing guidelines, which limit the seating in the cathedral to 195 people, we have had to ticket our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services this year. These tickets have now been fully allocated.

If you aren’t able to worship with us in person this year, why not connect with us digitally with one of our services online? The following services will be available to watch or listen to throughout the Christmas period. Please click the title of the service to be taken to the relevant page:

Festival of Lessons & Carols - A special recording by Hereford Cathedral Choir for 2020. As well as traditional favourites such as ‘Once in royal David’s city’ and ‘O come, all ye faithful,’ the service also includes a number of pieces by contemporary composers such as Cecilia McDowall, Matthew Martin and former Hereford chorister Ian King.

Christingle Service - As we aren't able to gather together this year for our annual Christingle service, we are inviting everyone to join us from home with our pre-recorded video service created by our education team. Thanks to St Thomas Cantilupe Primary School for all of their help making this video!

Christmas Day Worship - (from Christmas morning) Join us in our Christmas Day worship led by the Bishop of Hereford and featuring archive recordings from Hereford Cathedral Choir.

We are not holding a service for Holy Innocents Day (28 December) this year but will be sharing a short video service on the day.

There are some small adjustments to our regular worship between Christmas and New Year owing to bank holidays - for our full service information from Boxing Day onwards please click here. You do not need to book to attend any of these services and a warm welcome awaits all who, under the current restrictions, are able to join us.

Please also remember that you can request a prayer via our website at any point.

We would like to remind all visitors over the Christmas period of the current coronavirus guidance with regards to travelling into different tiers. Please be aware of the latest guidance which has been published by Herefordshire Council for visitors from Wales and Tier 4 areas here.

With best wishes for a happy Christmas and hopefully a brighter new year from all of the Hereford Cathedral Team.
