Hereford Cathedral has launched a new Christmas Tour for visitors to take part in during December.

The Christmas Tours will take visitors on a journey of festive discovery and explore Christmas through the ages. These tours have been specially created by the guides of Hereford Cathedral using little known stories and seasonal anecdotes from the cathedral archive. Themes explored during the tours will include historic ceremonies, musical history and religious artwork – all with a festive twist

Peter Challenger, Visits and Volunteers Administrator, said: “Christmas is a really magical time for us here at Hereford Cathedral and we felt it only right to share some of our hidden stories with visitors this festive season. The Christmas Tours are a lovely gift idea or can provide an alternative option for a Christmas get together.”

Ticket price includes a mince pie and hot drink from the Cathedral Café to be enjoyed after the tour. There are nine tours during December and advance booking is strongly recommended due to limited spaces.

Tours will run on the following dates:

Wednesday 11 | 1.30 pm

Thursday 12 | 12.30 pm

Thursday 19 | 11.30 am & 1.30 pm

Friday 20 | 1.30 pm

Monday 30 | 11.30 am & 1.30 pm

Tuesday 31 | 11.30 am & 1.30 pm
