Cathedral Closure Updated at 3pm, Friday 12 July A message from The Very Revd Sarah Brown, Dean of Hereford: "I am deeply upset by the incident which occurred in the Cathedral Close in the early hours of this morning and my prayers are with all those affected. I am also thinking of all of those who will have found the conversations about today particularly challenging due to their own personal experiences. I will be in the Cathedral from 9 - 11am tomorrow morning (Saturday 13 July) to support anyone who wishes to sit with me in reflection and prayer." Hereford Cathedral is now open to visitors and worshippers but the Cathedral Cafe, Cathedral Shop and Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition will remain closed for the rest of the day. Normal opening hours will resume across the entire cathedral on Saturday 13 July. ---- Updated at 9.10am, Friday 12 July The Cathedral Close is closed due to a police incident, therefore there is currently no access to the cathedral for visitors.
