Part of the Life & Learning Programme at Hereford Cathedral.

Chris Pullin took time away on sabbatical in the autumn. As well as resting, walking and – above all – painting, he had time to read and reflect.

Stepping aside from the daily round made space for quiet thought about faith, belief and practice. He was inspired but also challenged by the final books of Professor Gordon D. Kaufman, In the Beginning… Creativity and Jesus and Creativity.

Kaufman urges a radical rethink of our ideas about God, creation and humanity. This morning session will be a presentation of Kaufman’s ideas with an opportunity to think about them together. They have so much to say to our current situation and make us think seriously about the world as it is, and the place of faith within it. Above all, we are challenged to consider what the word ‘God’ means, or can mean, today. Perhaps the moment has come – is overdue indeed – for a radical overhaul of what we mean.

This study morning costs £8 and booking is essential via the Cathedral Library on 01432 374 225/6 or by emailing  [email protected]
