Rhys Griffith, who is Senior Archivist at the Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre, will be exploring the life work of William Godwin, the encaustic tile maker, whose innovative products captured the essence of the Victorian age.

From his factories in Lugwardine, Herefordshire, Godwin’s tiles became a staple feature in churches, public buildings and homes across the country.

After the talk there will be the opportunity to have a look at the Godwin tiles in the cathedral. This event will take place in the South Transept. Tickets cost £8 and booking is essential via the Cathedral Library by calling 01432 374 225/6 or emailing [email protected]
