What is a Just War... what justification have nations to go to war against others? Apart from the war to Liberate Kuwait in 1991, most of the conflicts that the UK has been involved in over the last 30 years have had dubious legality and have left a heart-breaking legacy.

Major General Arthur Denaro, in this talk, examines the criteria for a Just War and attempts to develop a set of rules to guide leaders in the future and gives some personal thoughts on post conflict reconciliation.

This talk is part of the Life and Learning programme. The event will take place in College Hall and tickets are £8. Tickets must be booked in advance through the Cathedral Library on (01432) 374225 / 374226 or email: [email protected]
