Part of the Life & Learning Programme at Hereford Cathedral.

For centuries, the Cathedral Cloisters have been a place of learning, music and community, but the stories of those who lived there had been largely forgotten.

However, research undertaken as part of the Eastern Cloisters Project unearthed discoveries which show the Cloisters in a new light. Come and learn about the historical significance of the Cloisters, and hear stories of some of the more eccentric characters who lived there. Be warned – the Cloisters were not always as peaceful as they are today, so expect tales of conflict and scandal!

Sarah Hollingdale is leading the activities associated with the Heritage Lottery funded project to improve the Eastern Cloisters.

This lecture is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund who have generously funded the Eastern Cloisters Project.

This talk costs £8 and is free to volunteers and 16-25 year olds. Booking is essential via the Cathedral Library on 01432 374 225/6 or by emailing [email protected]
