Crypt

The crypt is now a place for quiet prayer. It may have been originally built for worship, but later was a burial place.

The crypt has a great calm about it and makes a marvellous place to begin or end a tour of the cathedral, speaking as it does of the strength which is always to be gained from time spent quietly, conscious of the presence of God.
