'Working to preserve your heritage'

Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust works to support the urgent restoration programme being undertaken to the fabric of the cathedral and to support the ongoing delivery and development of Hereford's unique choral tradition.

Over the past seven years much has been achieved, including:

• Lady Chapel restoration. Currently in its final stage of a seven year, £1.2 million restoration of the external face of the 13th century chapel. Stonework has needed to be replaced and glass restored. Stones and glass can be sponsored for special occasions, to remember loved ones or simply for yourself!
• Central Tower. Completion of restoration work. For the first time in nearly 40 years the tower can be seen without scaffolding.
• The Shrine of St Thomas of Hereford. The restoration of the shrine and re-ordering of the north transept in order to display the shrine in its original setting.
• Stanbury Chapel. The repair of the lead roof of this unique 15th century chapel - Hereford's only example of fan vaulting.
• Establishment of a fabric Investment Fund. To provide a long-term source of income to fund the ongoing restoration and maintenance of the cathedral.
• Annual grants to the Choral Foundation - To support the development of our choral heritage and support the education of the choristers
• Funding of ex-choristers - To support, when possible, choristers who have left the choir but who need additional support to continue their education at the cathedral school
• Establishment of Choral Investment Fund - To ensure the long-term security of the choir.
