The Close Project

2008-12    £5.4 millionCathedral Close - view once restored

The Close project was developed out of an idea in 2001 that the Cathedral environs should be improved or upgraded to give the Cathedral an appropriate setting and to rejuvinate a green space at the heart of our community. The project was developed over a number of years in partnership with the Chapter and will look confidently into the future. The reality of wonderful restored spiritual space, at the heart of our community, is now coming into being.

In January 2009 TRH The Prince of Wales & The Duchess of Cornwall launched the restoration. Covergage of the visit can be found on the BBC website. During the visit The Prince renewed his Patronage of the Perpetual Trust.
