The Hereford Cathedral Sunday School is a busy and vibrant place for our children to meet.
We gather in our Sunday school room in the college cloister every Sunday at the same time as the main cathedral Eucharist. Children from crèche to 11 years are very welcome to join us.
We begin our session with a short service that the children share in, which mirrors the service that is taking place in the cathedral.
We then divide into two groups, seedlings for children up to seven years of age and climbers for those aged 7 to 11 years.
We also provide a crèche for those younger members!
We follow a recognised program which is in line with the Church lectionary.
At the peace, we return to the cathedral and hand the children back to parents, enabling families to continue with the service together.
Each year we lead the main cathedral Eucharist on mothering Sunday and Harvest festival. Also, on Christmas Eve, the whole Sunday school performs the nativity. This is very popular with families attending and enjoying the carols and sights and sounds of the Christmas story.
A leader and team of teachers support the children in their journey through the Christian year and we are always very happy to welcome new members to the classes and to the teaching team.
