History
Our Chained Library can give Key Stage 4 pupils the exciting experience of being in touch with history. It contains manuscripts and early printed books that provide fascinating source materials for historical study, many of which are relevant to GCSE history options. The introduction of printing in the late 15thcentury had a vast influence on the growth of literacy, the use of the vernacular and the spread of education over the following centuries, as well as enabling the use of printed propaganda materials for religious or political ends. With notice, our librarian is happy to discuss your course requirements with you and then talk to pupils and show them examples of our chained books that illustrate or enhance their GCSE work.

R.E.

Pupils studying for GCSE R.E. confront many puzzling questions about life, faiths and interfaith dialogue. We can arrange for you to bring your pupils to the cathedral to meet Christians working in the cathedral community who will be happy to answer questions of belief from the Christian perspective, and to discuss theological issues. Alternatively, we can arrange for someone to visit your school.

If you would like to discuss how we can help with GCSE R.E. or History, please contact  Sarah Arrowsmith, Education Officer, on 01432 374256
or email: sarah.arrowsmith@herefordcathedral.org
