Pre-season training
Pre-season training deals with the more practical issues of guiding and stewarding including customer care skills, health and safety issues, etc.

Induction
Each new guide, steward or member of staff receives a useful induction into their new area of work which includes meeting colleagues, briefings of health and Safety and codes of conduct, etc. Reading material is also available for the many subject areas.

Meetings
Guides and Stewards have regular opportunities to meet their colleagues and take part in regular meetings throughout the year. These include the Volunteers Liaison Group and departmental Volunteer Meetings.

Educational Visits
Throughout the year volunteers are given the chance to travel as a group to another relevant cathedral, collection or exhibition to build reciprocal training experiences and learning opportunities.
