Services
at Hereford Cathedral
Daily
worship - morning and evening prayer and the celebration of Holy Communion
- has taken place every day throughout the centuries of the cathedral's
existence. Many of these services are fully choral, sung by our famous
cathedral choir.
The cathedral choir of boys and men is renowned internationally through
its tours and recordings and provides music of the highest standard
of professional excellence throughout the year. Christmas with its carols
and Easter with its moving services in Holy Week are special highlights.
The choir makes regular broadcasts on radio and TV and has made a considerable
number of CDs (available in the Cathedral Shop). The music used comes
from the complete range of the great heritage of cathedral music, from
Byrd to Britten, from Monteverdi to Mathias. Worshippers are welcome
at all the cathedral services and the Dean and Chapter look forward
to greeting you.
