New Lay Canons and Additional Member of Chapter
The Bishop of Hereford, in consultation with the Chapter has appointed the following as lay canons:
Mrs Freda Davies, formerly diocesan president of the Mothers’ Union
Mrs Rosemary Lording, additional member of Hereford Cathedral Chapter until September 2010 and lay co-chair, Hereford Diocesan Synod.
Lt Col Andrew Eames, Chapter Clerk, Hereford Cathedral and Cathedral Administrator, 1995-2009.
Mr Duncan Wilkins, Senior Lay Clerk, Hereford Cathedral.
The Bishop of Hereford, in consultation with the Chapter has appointed the following as an additional member of the Chapter:
Mr Richard Price. Richard is a lawyer by training, specialising in Middle East commercial law. He now lives in Tarrington, where he is much involved in village activities and is a member of the PCC. Richard’s interests include the Middle East and Central Asia (where he has travelled extensively), ancient and medieval history and archaeology, literature and the arts.
The new lay canons and new member of Chapter will be installed in the Cathedral on Friday 8 October, during Evensong at 5.30pm.
The Bishop, Dean and members of Chapter take this opportunity of thanking those who have served as lay canons and whose terms of office now come to an end:

All four will now become Lay Canons Emeriti and we look forward to continuing to welcome them to cathedral services and events.
