Advent Fair and Carols for Shoppers
Hereford Cathedral is hosting its Christmas Fair on Saturday 17th December running from 10am until 2pm.
There will be over 30 stalls laden with local crafts, produce and seasonal gifts all within the beautiful cathedral building. At noon the popular ‘Carols for Shoppers’ will take place. Come along and take part in this celebration which will include carols sung by The Hereford Church Singers conducted by John Eden and the Hereford Junior Singing Club conducted by Martyn Lane. The Willis Organ will be played at the service by our Organ Scholar Douglas Tang.
In addition to the Cloister Cafe’s usual menu there will be coffee and mince pies available in the Retro Choir area. So there will be plenty of opportunity to stop and chat and enjoy the Cathedral at this special time of year.
The cathedral tower will also be open for tours at 10.30 and 1.30. Our volunteer guides will accompany you up the 218 steps to the top where you can enjoy the bird’s eye view of the city. These will only run in favourable weather conditions.
All the proceeds from the day go to support Hereford Cathedral and Close House in Hereford. Close House exists to help young people in Herefordshire and more information about their work can be found on www.closehouse.org
