St John's Quad

Development in this area of the close will improve parking facilities, adding disabled spaces and cycle parking for staff and volunteers.  Formal parking spaces are being marked out in porphyry cobbles. The diseased oak tree was removed, to be replaced with a loose hedge of evergreen shrubs.  At the entrance to Castle Street access controls are being introduced and parking spaces reordered to improve vehicle circulation and to reinstate a view of the Cathedral and Lady Chapel unimpeded by cars.
