Visual Arts Project
Last November the cathedral welcomed 66 secondary students from 8 different schools around the diocese to participate in a Visual Arts Project to interpret the history and heritage of Hereford Cathedral Close. In collaboration with Hereford Cathedral School and Hereford College of Arts, six workshops were held in College Hall at the Cathedral and in the Cathedral School, lead by specialist art tutors from the art college.

Workshop themes and media included:
The Medieval Close: printmaking
The Close Besieged (civil war): textiles
The 18th Century Close: ceramics
The Close in Living Memory: screen printing
The Natural Close: photography.
The Victorian Close: making a family album in
Victorian style about the families who lived in the houses along Broad Street
